Formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano, Crater Lake in southern Oregon is the deepest, clearest, and most intensely blue lake in North America. The 21 square miles of water are ringed by the towering cliffs of the volcano's caldera. The deepest point of the lake is over 1900 feet.
