The Trailridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park takes the visitor into high alpine country of towering mountains, sweeping vistas, and a tundra ecosystem. Traversing a ridge above 11,000 feet for 10 miles, it is the highest road in the United States. Elk, Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer, and Black Bears roam the subalpine zone. Many alpine lakes, streams with waterfalls, wildflowers contribute the scenic beauty of the park.
