Big Bend National Park is big, over 800,000 acres, and remote. It encompasses three distinct environments: Chihuahuan desert, mountains, and river. It is the only park that has an entire mountain range, the Chisos Mountains, wholly within its boundaries. Big Bend supports an incredible diversity of plant and animal life, including more bird species than any other national park.
