The colorful rock spires, or hoodoos, of Utah's Bryce Canyon are the result of millions of years of erosion of the rock of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The first morning light on the eastward-facing Bryce Amphitheater creates a spectacular display of yellows and oranges that seem to radiate out from the rock formations themselves, almost glowing from within.
